Greeting Card and Winter Scene
When you are done with your calendar project, you are to create a holiday greeting card using Publisher and a winter scene using OpenOffice Draw. You will do the winter scene only if you finish the greeting card. Below are the instructions:
Greeting Card
- Open Publisher and choose 'Greeting Cards' from the list.
- Select Side Fold Card or Top Fold Card.
- Click Yes when asked to automatically insert pages.
- At the bottom of your document you should see four pages. Page 1 is the front, 2/3 are the inside, and 4 is the back.
- Design a holiday greeting card for a friend or family member. You may use the pre-designed card templates in Publisher for ideas and you can also type "Holiday Greeting Cards" into Google images for ideas. However, you may NOT use a template for your design!
- Front of card MUST have a graphic, a border, and a message (e.g., Happy Holidays!, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, etc...).
- Inside left must have a holiday quote with the author's name included (search for one on the internet).
- Inside right must be the message and include a small graphic.
- Back must include: Designed Especially for you by: Your Name © 2009. (To make the copyright symbol type ( c ) and then hit space. It will automatically be created.)
- When you are finished, save it in your Desktop Publishing folder as "Holiday Greeting Card".
- Print in color (4600/4700) and hand in.
Winter Scene
- Use either OpenOffice Draw or Publisher.
- You will be creating a winter scene of your choosing using the drawing tools in either program.
- The winter scene must include use of fill colors, autoshapes, line styles, a text box, 3D, shadow effects, a border (if using Publisher), and a background.
- TYPE your name on the front of the document
- When you finish, save it in your MP2 folder as "Winter Scene"
- Print out and hand in.
