Publisher Collage

Today, you will be working on a collage that represents you. I have provided an example in the share folder for you to look at (Go to MH_Shares; 247 Kennedy ;  ICA; Desktop Publishing; Sample Collage). Use this example only as a guide, DO NOT COPY! The example was made by a student, but I modified it so that the student's information would not be revealed.

In addition, there is a handout on using WordArt that you may find useful to help you in completing your project. This can be found by going to the share folder and opening WordArt. Please be sure to use the Publisher 2007 Quick Reference Sheet that you received last class for help. Also, refer to Publisher steps that you completed last class as well.

**You are required to include a separate document with the URL's for where you got your pictures. You can use Word for this document. You cannot just write 'http://www.google.com.' You have to copy and paste the ENTIRE URL (web address) for the image into the Word document. Every picture you use has to have a URL.
Setup of Document:
  • Open Publisher 2007 and click on Blank Page Sizes on the main screen.
  • Scroll down under the standard sizes and choose either Letter (Portrait) 8.5" x 11" OR Letter (Landscape) 11" x 8.5". Then click Create
  • Change your margins to .5" on ALL SIDES (Arrange - Layout Guides)
  • Put a border around your document (Go to Insert; Design Gallery Object. Select Borders and change color scheme to match your collage)
The following MUST be included in your collage:
  • Personal Information: Birthday, Place of Birth, etc.
  • Family Members and Pictures
  • Education, list pictures of school attended, etc.
  • Favorite Teachers, Movies, Music, Hobbies, Athletic Teams, etc.
  • Include AutoShapes, Border Art, at least 1 Table, and at least 20 pictures
  • Change 1 picture to Washout and a different picture to Black and White
  • Use of 'Set Transparent Color' to take away the white background from your pictures. You CANNOT use square or rectangular pictures for more than 7 of your pictures.
This assignment is worth 50 points. Failure to complete or demonstrate use of any of the above will result in a 5 point deduction. This will be due on Friday, October 23rd.

When finished save in your Desktop Publishing folder as Collage.
